Unlike some species where both parents are involved in raising offspring, jaguars are solitary animals.

As such, Rock, the father, will not be involved in the upbringing of the cubs, who will be kept separately.

Svetlana Shelgunova, Head of the Department of Predatory Mammals at Leningrad Zoo, expressed delight in observing the playful behavior of the cubs.

She remarked, “Now they manifested their naughty behavior. You can see how jaguar cubs climb on the back of their mother. They often play with their mother and with each other. They will begin to come out of their dens soon.”

The video footage captured the cubs being placed into a bucket filled with hay to keep them warm, with one seen practicing its roar.
